What Is A Cancelled Cheque? Its uses and Sample

Sample Cancelled cheque - Sulthan Acadmy
A cancelled cheque simply refers to any cheque that has strike marks on it with the words ‘CANCELLED’ written across. A cancelled cheque is considered to be proof that you actually hold an account with the bank. A cancelled cheque is required in many cases such as Opening a Demat account, withdrawal of EPF funds, setting an Electronic Clearance Service from the account. Next, let me illustrate you how to make a Cancelled Cheque.
Making a Cancelled Cheque

1. To cancel a cheque leaf, all you need to do is draw two parallel lines across the cheque and write ‘CANCELLED’ in between the two lines. (like in the sample above)
2. A cancelled cheque doesn’t require your signature or Date.
A cancelled cheque provides information such as account number, account holder’s name, MICR code, IFSC code, name and branch of the bank. Even though no one can withdraw money from your account using a cancelled cheque, fraudulent activities using a cancelled cheque have happened in the past. So be very careful when you issue a cancelled cheque and make sure that the person you are handing it is trustworthy.

What is BNA ?

www.iamsulthan.in

BNAs are new generation, secure ATMs that have the multi functional  ability to offer deposits or dispense transactions of bundles notes up  to 200 mixed notes after having counted and authenticated them in 8-10  seconds. The customer is first asked  to verify the amount of deposit to ensure that it tallies and then it is  credited into his/her account immediately. It completely takes away  human intervention required until now  and enables users to manage and  control the same.

BNA are nothing but Cash deposit machines

The initial attempt at  automating Deposits included certain types ATMs which allowed users to  deposit cash via envelopes. The money would then be counted, verified  and credited later. This never really gave customers a sense of security  regarding their deposit. The potential impact of BNAs on currency  circulation and customer service was seen as significant for the RBI to  subsidize the cost of BNAs up to 50 per cent for urban areas (and even  75 per cent in semi urban areas).

How to fix 500 Internal server Error in YouTube and other sites?

Image from Pixabay

Earlier this morning when I am accessing my YouTube channel's feature my chrome browser returned me "500 server error " and stating expert monkeys are sent to fix the problems with a monkey picture in right side of the window. This looks really funny. But trust me its annoying for many users out there, just like for me. so let me explain you how to fix this error.

What doesn't work?

Let me first explain you few tweaks that I tried which actually doesn't work for me:
1. Restarted my Chrome browser
2. Used different internet browser i.e. Internet explorer , Still doesn't work
3. Cleared my Cache and History in chrome browser, Nope doesn't help me either!!
4. Restarted my laptop. Still the monkeys are working !!

So, All the above actions doesn't end up fixing the error and I believe the monkey are confused to fix! Any ways Jokes apart.

Fix is here

Actually the fix is very simple. Just clear your YouTube cookies in chrome. Here are the steps to clear cookies..
1. Go to "Settings" and search "Cookie"
2. Select "Content settings"
3. Select "All cookies and site data"
4. Search "YouTube" and delete both the content usins 'x' sign from the results
That's it . The error is fixed and monkeys are gone. Enjoy your time in youtube now. See you again in another post.

VoLTE explained in a nutshell

What is VoLTE ?

VoLTE stands for voice over LTE. It voice calls over a 4G LTE network, rather than the 2G or 3G connections which are usually used. This result in high quality of voice calls and better connectivity. VoLTE has up to three times more voice and data capacity than 3G and up to six times more than 2G networks. In India Reliance Jio announced commercial launch of 100% VoLTE service without 2G/3G based services in India on 5th Sep 2016.

Benefits of VoLTE

The 4G networks brings following advantage to the mobile customers:

  • Superior call quality
  • Improved coverage and connectivity
  • Better battery life
  • Quality Video calling
  • Simultaneous Voice and Data usage

What are the downsides?

Like all technology 4G / LTE has some downsides too

Health hazards from 4G / LTE mobile network

Image byClker-Free-Vector-Images via Pixabay
Just months before 3G mobile networks were most popular among the mobile users. But that is now giving up its grip away to the much more advanced, 4G/LTE network which is tremendously powerful and featuring faster bandwidth, this network provides lightning-fast service to mobile Internet users. However, just like everything else, this too has its own downsides. The latest allegation is that 4G technology is several times more of a health hazard than any of its predecessors. Mobile transmission towers emit microwave (radio frequency) radiations, which are proven to be harmful to a our health. Studies have reveled this exposure is harmful to the brains that even reuslts to Alzheimer and brain cancer which is more worrying to any person. Considerable evidence links long-term exposure to radiation to the possibility of sperm damage, DNA mutation, increase in glucose in the brain, genetic stress, immune system dysfunction, effect on unborn children, etc. these health hazards are not just limited to the humans, ultimately no living being escapes the influence of unnatural radiation on the cell structures of the body.

Why is 4G network bad for health?

4G technology uses more bandwidth than 2G/3G networks, which results more exposure to radiation. Handset makers manufacture smartphones quipping with a series of antennae in one handset capable of receiving the full bandwidth power of 4G networks. According to health experts, this further intensifies the risk of being exposed to more radiation. This is believed to emit much more radiation than before, which could in turn cause severe health issues at a later time.

What should we do?

Rise in these health hazards we are in need to take actions to save our-self from the danger. There are only a handful of European countries that take measures to protect their citizens, by informing them and enforcing mandatory warning labels on the packaging of mobile apparatuses. In France it is forbidden for children under 15 years of age to use GSM. The European Council has passed the resolution wherein they advise a complete restriction of mobile phones and wireless internet in schools.
  • Avoid as much as possible making calls with your mobile phone.
  • Turn off your WiFi, Bluetooth and 3G/4G mobile data when not in use and keep your mobile away from your body as much as possible.
  • Switch off, via both hardware and software, Bluetooth and WiFi on your computers, printers and other wireless devices and use only cables. If this is not possible, make sure that at least you switch off your WiFi router and all wireless transmitters at night.
  • Make sure the Bluetooth in your car is completely off and Don't use a Bluetooth receiver in your ear!
  • If you have school age children, ask the school to limit /prohibit /abolish WiFi. There is now plenty of evidence that its use is ill advised.
  • Do not use the microwave or at least ensure that you are more than 2.5 meters away from it, and leave no children in the vicinity of this appliance.
  • The most important location, your bed! A person, when sleeping, is estimated to be 200 to 400 times more sensitive to radiation or other stimuli. Make sure your bed and your children’s beds have no electrical sources in the vicinity. In other words: no electric blanket, no waterbed heating, no adjustable bed by means of electric motors (unplug), and no electrically powered clock radio. Put your mobile phone in another room, or even better switch it off. If necessary, purchase a small battery driven alarm clock.

Symptoms of radiation exposure

Some symptoms of radiation exposure are:
  • Chronic fatigue
  • Hyperactivity
  • Waking up between 3:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m.
  • After intense dreams: teeth grinding or tossing
  • Sweating without being really warm, especially at night
  • "Sleeping" or tingling hands and feet
  • Cramps in the feet or calves (can also be magnesium deficiency)
  • Stiffness or stiff legs when standing
  • Urge to urinate with little urine produced
  • Hyperventilation
  • Shortness of breath
  • Palpitations
  • Cramped feeling that radiates from chest to shoulders and jaw
  • High blood pressure
  • Rigid (usually) left shoulder
  • A tingling sensation in stomach and chest

Natural remedies for radiation exposure

Consuming foods that contains anyof the following components will help in reducing the radiation exposure
  • Nascent Iodine
  • Potassium Orotate
  • Calcium and Magnesium
  • Dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO)
  • Zeolites
  • Other clays
  • Activated Charcoal
  • Papain
  • Bee Pollen
  • Beets
  • Cold-pressed Organic Vegetable Oils
  • Organic Brewers Yeast
  • Organic Germanium-132

What is cabin baggage and check-in baggage ?

Cabin baggage

Cabin baggage or Hand luggage is the type of luggage that passengers are allowed to carry along in the passenger compartment of a vehicle (airplane or train) instead of moving to the cargo compartment. In North America it is commonly referred as Carry-on. There is a limit for the passengers of carrying smaller bags with them in the vehicle and should contain valuables and items needed during the journey. There is normally storage space provided for hand luggage, either under seating, or in overhead lockers in flights. Whereas, in trains usually we can see luggage racks above the seats and in the case of trains travelling longer distance they have luggage space between the backs of seats facing opposite directions, or in extra luggage racks - for example, at the ends of the carriage near the doors.
Size restrictions
As per the IATA (International Air Transport Association) rules, Cabin baggage should have a maximum length of 56 cm (22 inches), the width of 45 cm (18 inches) and depth of 25 cm (10 inches) including all handles, side pockets, wheels etc. However, in practice the actual size and weight limits of cabin baggage can differ widely between airlines, in some it dependent on the aircraft model being used and it depends on the booking class - Economy, Business and etc..,

Check-in baggage / Checked baggage

Check-in baggage or Checked baggage refers to the luggage delivered to an airline or train for transportation in the hold of an aircraft or baggage car of a passenger train, which means it is inaccessible to the passenger during the flight or ride.
Weight restrictions
As per the IATA (International Air Transport Association) rules, The bag should weigh less than 23KG/50LBS. This is an international regulation set for the health and safety of airport workers who have to lift hundreds of bags daily. If your bag weighs more than this, you may be asked to repack, or have it labeled as "heavy luggage". The maximum weight however is 32KG/70LBS in the EU and the US. Some airlines impose lower limits. You can refer the airline's websites for more detail about their limits .

Conclusion
Both the Cabin and check-in baggage has limits in carrying size, weight and items. For instance, British Airways there is a limit that liquid you carry must be in its own container of no more than 100 ml. Similarly, the weight and size limits differ from airlines to airlines and It also depends on the Ticket class you buy. So, it is always recommended you to visit the website of concern airline and plan before packing your bags.

How to embed the fonts? Solution for font display problem in PDF files using Font embedding

Font embedding
Font embedding is an inclusion of font files in a document, by default Word Processing files and the Excel spreadsheets keep the fonts embed with to keep document fonts and layout the same way as they were added in the document. In PDF files the user who receives the file with no other option but to have the same fonts installed into his computer to be able to see it as it was originally created. If the receiver is missing certain font then there arises the problem in viewing the PDF files. This can be solved by embedding the font manually in to the file.

Pros and Cons

These are the pros of using font embedding in a PDF file
1. File fidelity (quality, layout, special characters etc.) will stay exactly the same as the original file one.
2. Additional modifications can be made on the PDF later without the need of having any other fonts installed assuring the file will always be viewed as intended by the users despite being modified.
3. Subset embedding assures that the file will contain at least the font with which it was created so everyone else can see it without having to install the font and also have the minimum size at the best quality.
4. Font embedding takes the PDF file sharing and interactivity between users to a different level.
The Cons of font embedding in a PDF file are
1. The file size which in the case of full font set embedding can be 3 to 4 times larger than the original file.
2. The practice is controversial as the potential for making copyright infringements is high. This is why Microsoft permits font embedding only with DRM protection in its applications.
3. If only subset embedding is made on the PDF file the other fonts that were not added originally in the file cannot be added anymore.

Using bullzip to embed font

Bullzip provides free pdf printer for up to 10 users. The FREEWARE comes with limitations that for personal and commercial use up to 10 users. It does not contain any advertising or popups. For commercial applications with more than 10 users there are commercial versions available with advanced features.
1. Install the free printer and open Bullzip PDF printer option. From your windows menu
2. Under the Other tab , In other Settings, select All from the Embed fonts dropdown list box. And click ok.

3. Open the document that you want to print. Under the print dialog box. Select Bullzip PDF Printer and print the file. That’s it now your pdf is font embedded.

There are few other alternatives for embedding such as using Adobe Acrobat, NOVA pdf and etc.. but This is a simplest and easiest way to embed the font in PDF as well as you get the software for free.!

Best Quran app for Android Users - 6 Reason why I recommend

Holy Quran English - Playstore

I have been using few apps for reading Quran, among those I often miss something or other in either of the apps. Finally, today I came across  Holy Quran English  in Google play store and I feel this is best and meets all our expectations . so, let me explain its features and how it meets our Expectations.

6 Reason why I recommend this app.

  1. User friendly design - Design is simple fast and gives option to adjust fonts of texts.
  2. Surah and Juz Index - Most apps either have Surah index or Juz index. This app got the both index.
  3. Reading transliteration with English text - Its very important for people those who are not fluent or doesnt know to read Arabic. one of my friend who is a new Muslim from Philippines wanted a app to read Quran but doesnt know Arabic. So thats where these transliteration can be very useful.
  4.  Multiple English translation - Readers have their own choice in choosing the translations from different scholars across the worls. I personally prefer the translation of Abdullah Yusuf Ali and unfortunately thats missing in this app and i suggest author to add that in future updates. but still the app gives two choice for selecting the translation.
  5. Multiple Audio recitation along with text - Its helps to read in proper tajweed when we read alongside of a audio recitation and this app provides 7 choices . these includes recitation by Syaikh Hani Ar Rifai, Shaikh Mishary Rashid, Shaikh Fares Abbad, Syaikh Mahmud Khalil Al Husary, Syaikh Maher Al Muaiqly, Syaikh Saad Al-Ghamdi, and Shaikh Muhammad Jebril.
  6. It's Free - the app is absolutely free and no limitations. You can access all the above mentioned features for free.
I believe most of the users accept with these expectation before deciding which application to download. additionally there are Hijri calendar, Qibla direction, prayer times too in this application.
I give few suggestion to the author to include in future update such as Adding more Translation choice, Adding dark theme makes easy to read in night, showing a length of mp3 while playing audio, adding a text menu explains benefits of reading surah like Ya'sin, Al-Kahf and etc.. , Adding reciation by Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais.

Thank you for the developer for providing this beautiful app. share your Comments and share the post with your friends and  family.

Elsevier Publishing Campus - Much needed platform for researchers

I am a research scholar and gradually it took me 3 years to understand the research world and still learning. It took me so much time to understand the framework of research and publishing. To  be honest,I have just understand how things are working in research world and I have so much to do. To be a good researcher you should first be able to explain what's your research is about. There is no use of research if you cant present your ideas through a paper which is read and understood by others. For this you need to understand how to write a journal article or submitting a book proposal, learning how to conduct peer review for a high impact journal, understanding research and publishing ethics or writing a successful grant application. This is where Elsevier Publishing campus comes in to help the researchers with their resources to help you achieve your goals. The Elsevier Publishing Campus offers free lectures, interactive training and professional advice.

"Researchers today need to secure funding, collaborate, share data, publish results, commercialize research and demonstrate impact. Early career researchers in particular are under significant pressures and Elsevier is committed to supporting you on your way to publishing a world class journal article or book and developing your career as a successful professional researcher." - Hannah Foreman, Head of Researcher Relations,  Elsevier.

Elsevier Publishing Campus users are also entitled to a 30% discount on ALL Elsevier books and a 10% discount on Elsevier Webshop services and products.

What you get inside campus:

  • Interactive training courses guide you carefully through a topic and test your knowledge along the way. Average completion time is 15-30 minutes.
  • Online lectures present a topic by leading experts and engage in Q&A towards the end to boost the discussion. Average completion time is 15 minutes.
  • LIVE online lectures present a topic by leading experts and are followed by a live Q&A which you can join in! Average completion time is 50 minutes.
  • Attending and completing any of the above will result in your being awarded a Certificate of Completion. They will be available at the end of each course of lecture to download and they are automatically stored in your profile.
Taking these courses will help a researcher to develop and get perfect with their skills. I thank Elsevier for creating such useful platform for people like me. Wish other researchers do get benefited by this. Visit: https://www.publishingcampus.elsevier.com for more details.

What is an Academic database? What is review of literature?

review of literature is a process of evaluating the information found in the literature(past studies) related to your selected area of study. All works included in the review must be read, evaluated and analysed, but relationships between the literature must also be identified and articulated, in relation to your field of research. As a process of review of literature, a literature review report is written with the purpose to convey the reader what knowledge and ideas have been established on a topic, and what their strengths and weaknesses are. The literature review should provide a context for the research, justify the research, ensure the research hasn't been done before, show where the research fits into the existing body of knowledge, enable the researcher to learn from previous theory on the subject, illustrate how the subject has been studied previously, highlight flaws in previous research, outline gaps in previous research, show that the work is adding to the understanding and knowledge of the field and help refine, refocus or even change the topic. To do this process we need to go through the published articles. Finding and searching the past studies in each journal is almost a impossible task and this where academic databases play a vital role.

An Academic databases (sometimes referred to as abstracting and indexing databases) will find articles from thousands of journals. Search by your keyword to generate a list of results. Using them will save you time and effort compared to searching individual journals and will give you a comprehensive set of journal articles. I recommend you to use these academic databases rather than Search engines (Google)  or Encyclopedia (Wikipedia) because the information included in the databases is of high academic quality.

List of frequently used Multidisciplinary Academic database:

Apart from the above mentioned multidisciplinary databases there are several specific database for specific disciplines and its branches.

If you need any help or clarifications feel free to drop your queries at comments.

Shocking Top 14 foods that might be causing cancer

Last year over 1.5 million people were diagnosed with cancer. But few people stop to think about if the foods they are eating contain deadly carcinogens or are harming them in a way that might cause cancer. We all eat. Is what you are eating killing you?
1. Highly Processed White Flours
After refining, processed white flours not only lose most all of their nutrients but they are also bleached with a chemical called chlorine gas. The EPA sites this gas as dangerous, irritant, that can be lethal. It is also very highly glycemic and bad for your blood sugar. Not only are they making us fat they might also be contributing to rising cancer rates.
2. Microwave Popcorn
Everybody loves a yummy bag of popcorn. Making it in the microwave is easy and convenient. Unfortunately, according to wikipedia the bags of microwave popcorn are lined with perfluorooctanoic acid ( PFOA). This chemical is also found in Teflon. Studies have shown that this chemical can be linked with infertility in women and exposure significantly increases risk of kidney, bladder, liver, pancreas and testicular cancers. Find more out at cancer.org.
Many microwave popcorns also still use diacetyl which Conagra stopped using due to employees using it getting lung cancer.
3. Artifical Sweeteners
If you have to avoid sugar, are on a diet or have diabetes you might be using artificial sweeteners. However, many studies show that people usually GAIN weight when using them and can make it harder to control blood sugar. More studies are coming out that show aspertame, when broken down becomes a dealdy toxin called DKP. This breakdown of chemicals is known to cause certain brain tumors.
4. Alcohol
Many of us enjoy a nice drink now and then but over consumption of alcohol can lead to many health issues including diabetes, obesity and many types of cancers.   A recent study showed that postmenopausal women who drank one drink per day or less had a 30% increase in breast cancer rates than women who did not drink at all. Alchohol is the 2nd leading cause of cancer following tobacco. Experts working with the World Health Organization Research on Cancer found evidence that alcohol is the main cause of mouth, esophagus, liver, colon, mouth, rectum, and female breast cancers.
5. Refined Sugars and Soda Pop
Many believe that refined sugars are the preferable food for cancer cells which helps them grow. High Fructose Corn Syrup being one of the main culprits because it is most easily metabolized by cancer cells. This puts most cakes, sodas, sauces, juices, etc on the NO NO list.. Sorry sweet tooths!
6. Processed Meats
Like some hot dogs, sausages, bacon and lunch meats? Most of them have excessive salts and chemicals. Some studies show that people who regularly eat processed meats increased their chance of early death by as much as 43%. Sodium Nitrates are the biggest offenders and also a well know carcinogen with smoked meats being particularly bad.
7. Smoked, Pickled and Salted!
Put a fork in me after I eat these foods. These foods often have nitrates that turn into N-nitroso that is associated with higher cancer risks when digested.   Smoked meats that are high in fat can help lead to stomach and colorectal cancer.
8. Potato Chips
They sure make a great tasting quick snack but the negative effects far outweigh the short term pleasure. High in both fat and calories the cause weight gain. Add in often high Trans-Fats with sodium and you have the recipe for cancer and heart disease related health problems.
9. Farmed Salmon
Over 60% of salmon eaten in the United States is farm raised. Being fed unatural diets with chemicals, antibiotics, pesticides and other known carcinogens these otherwise healthy fish and not very healthy at all. Studies have also shown high numbers of PCB’s and mercury in them.
10. Diet Foods

11. GMO’s
While the jury is still out on what GMO’s are. Where they are in our food and what effect they have on the environment and our bodies one thing is for sure. The U.S. has NO testing procedures for GMO’s whatsoever. We are essentially guinea pigs in a huge trial.

14. Canned Tomatoes
Many canned foods and obviously found in cans. Most cans are lined with a chemical called bisphenol-A or BPA. Study about 2 years ago showed that BPA’s affect the way genes worked inside rats’ brains. The FDA seems to agree this is a problem and is supporting efforts to reduce, replace or eliminate the amounts found in canned foods.   The high acidity leaves tomatoes more dangerous because they can leech the BPA more readily from the can lining.
